Church History

A Belgium Satellite Ministry was established in 1987 by St. John Lutheran Church in Port Washington. In September 1987 the first service was conducted at the Belgium Village Hall. In 1988 a steering committee was established, a constitution and bylaws written. Growth expanded and a bigger space was needed. St. Mark was blessed with donations of 5 acres of land and a portable classroom to be used as a church. On December 20, 1988 St. Mark became the first church located in Belgium. In July 1990 the classroom was moved to the current location and renovation began with the first service being conducted on March 1, 1992. St. Mark was status quo for many years to come and in 2015 the new and present addition was begun and completed in 2018. Pastor Wayne King was called to St. Mark in June 2005 and retired on June 30th 2022 after serving 17 wonderful years. St Mark is currently being served by Vacancy Pastor Paul Schuenemann as St Mark is actively in the process of extending a call for a new Pastor.
